| Wickham Market
is a small village community situated between the Suffolk market
towns of Woodbridge and Framlingham (both 5 miles away). It has a
good supply of period Suffolk homes of all sizes, with more modern
houses built on the edges of the village over the past 30 years.
The vast majority of the properties are privately owned.
Hamilton
Smith estate agents is on the village square - the hub of the
village with its shops, restaurants, tea room and what villagers
regard as the best fish and chip shop in the area!
Local
attractions and amenities include the picturesque watermill by the
Deben river and the All Saints Church, whose 137ft Tower has a
little roof to shelter its bell. The local Bowls Club is sponsored
by Hamilton Smith Estate Agents.
There is a
popular youth football set-up and a thriving gardening club. The
popular Easton Farm Park also has an Equestrian Centre and there
are a number of local golf courses. For beach-lovers and sailors,
the whole of the local coastline is very close, including
Aldeburgh, Orford and Thorpness.
Wickham
Market has its own primary school on the edge of the village - www.wickhammarket.suffolk.sch.uk/
while secondary school students from the area travel to High
schools at Framlingham, Leiston and Woodbridge. |
