| Situated at
the source of the River Deben (hence the name), Debenham is a
picture-book Suffolk village in a highly sought after location,
well-served by Hamilton Smith Estate Agents.
The village
has long been known for its period charm and residents are working
to ensure that this reputation is retained. The Debenham Society,
formed in 2003, works to ensure that the village was improved
rather than spoiled by inappropriate development.
To showcase
what it has to offer, Debenham opens its doors as part of the
International Heritage Open Days scheme every September. Owners of
some of the very special buildings in the village share with
visitors the delights and quirks of the places where they live or
work.
That's not
to say that Debenham is stuck in the past, of course, as it boasts
excellent local shops and amenities, including the Debenham
Leisure Centre.
The best
place to find out everything you need to know about Debenham is
its excellent community website at www.debenhamsuffolk.co.uk
- one of the best village community websites you'll ever see.
